The year is 1983 and in that year the long running television series M*A*S*H airs it’s final episode also in that year the United States invades Grenada and the Baltimore Orioles are the World Series champions, Super Bowl champions are the Washington Redskins and not to leave the NBA out the Philadelphia 76ers were the champions that year. The number one box office hit at the movies is Return of the Jedi, the #1 television series was Dallas barely beating out 60 minutes, 1983 was also the year that Beat It and Billie Jean hit number one on the Pop charts along with Every Breath You Take from the Police and Total Eclipse of the Heart. That year Martin Luther King holiday was established and Vanessa Williams was the first African-American to be crowned Miss America. But most importantly that year 312 young men and women graduated from the Greatest class at Crest Senior High School in Shelby North Carolina history.

Yes that’s right I was not only the photographer that night for the Crest Senior High Schools 35th reunion of the class of 1983 I was a member of that class. During that enjoyable evening we dined at the Deer Brook country club restaurant in Shelby North Carolina. There was also dancing and a time of remembrance by the launching of balloons commemorating the lives of those in our class that went on before us far too young!
I was able to get some good shots of a few groups and many more on the dance floor as the class of 83 enjoyed each other on the dance floor. We also took a group shot but a few had already left. 
Although we were small in numbers we were big and spirit and we all enjoyed each other and look forward to the next reunion in five years.
