I was recently asked to photograph a Character book parade at a local elementary school near Shelby NC. The kids and staff dressed up as a favorite book character and paraded around the school gymnasium. It was a lot of fun but very challenging due to poor lighting and the kids were somewhat shy of my camera. The speed at which they walked also created a challenge. I set my depth of field (aperture) as wide open as I could without having too narrow a focus point. I bumped up my exposure compensation 3 stops and used a speed light to help compensate for poor lighting. The pictures turned out great and were vibrant and I even caught a few happy smiles! This was a great leaning experience on how to shoot moving subject in low lighting! The kids and staff were really cute with their costumes and were very creative. I really enjoyed this photo shoot! Below are just a few pictures of the parade. If you are looking for someone to photograph an upcoming event or family shoot or wedding please go to the contact tab and fill out your info and I will get back to you as soon as possible!
